With the generous support of our sponsors, the HBCU National Center can support HBCU staff to recruit outstanding students for internships fostering experiential learning, mentorship, and networking while living in Washington, D.C.

The Center currently offers two grant programs – “Intern Support Grants” from the Foundation and “Intern Housing Grants”.

Intern Housing Grants

HBCU students participating in a DC internship for fully-paid housing ($6,000 per student, per semester).

 Platinum – $396,000

  • Sponsors 66 student interns (1 floor) interning for 1 year (3 semesters)
  • Choice of HBCU(s) to send students
  • Choice of Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters
  • Recognition on website
  • Advertisement via newsletters to subscriber list
  • Acknowledgement and expression of appreciation at special events
  • Premier plaque in building recognizing level of sponsorship
  • Opportunity for sponsor to speak at special  events
  • Naming rights for housing floor

Gold – $132,000

  • Sponsors 22 student  interns (1 floor) interning for 1 semester
  • Choice of HBCU(s) to send students
  • Choice of Spring, Summer, or Fall semester
  • Recognition on website
  • Advertisement via newsletters to subscriber list
  • Acknowledgement and expression of appreciation at special events
  • Premier plaque in building recognizing level of sponsorship

Silver – $36,000

  • Sponsors 6 student interns (1 unit) interning for 1 year (3 semesters)
  • Choice of HBCU(s) to send students
  • Choice of Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters
  • Recognition on website

  • Acknowledgement and expression of appreciation at special events

Bronze – $12,000

  • Sponsors 2 student interns (1 unit) for 1 semester
  • Choice of HBCU(s) to send students
  • Choice of Spring, Summer, or Fall semester

  • Advertisement via newsletters to subscriber list

    Intern Support Grants

    Established to provide cash grants to HBCUs or another 501(c)(3) organization supporting HBCUs to benefit HBCU students participating in an internship programs. Administered by CFSC* (501(c)(3).

    Supporter — $1,000 increments

    • Contribute to the Foundation to support HBCU staff in student recruitment for internships
    • Choice of HBCU to receive the contribution
